The LORD supports all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down
Children too are a gift from the LORD, the fruit of the womb, a reward.
Hear me, O coastlands, listen, O distant peoples. The LORD called me from birth, from my mother’s womb he gave me my name.
13 Author, thou, of my inmost being, didst thou not form me in my mother’s womb?
14 I praise thee for my wondrous fashioning, for all the wonders of thy creation.
Of my soul thou hast full knowledge, 15 and this mortal frame had no mysteries for thee, who didst contrive it in secret, devise its pattern, there in the dark recesses of the earth.
16 All my acts thy eyes have seen, all are set down already in thy record; my days were numbered before ever they came to be.
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I dedicated you, a prophet to the nations I appointed you.
1 Corinthians 6:13-15
The body is not meant for fornication: it is for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. God, who raised the Lord from the dead, will by his power raise us up too. You know, surely, that your bodies are members making up the body of Christ; do you think I can take parts of Christ’s body and join them to the body of a prostitute? Never! But anyone who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him.
1 Corinthians 6:17-20
Keep away from fornication. All the other sins are committed outside the body; but to fornicate is to sin against your own body. Your body, you know, is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you since you received him from God. You are not your own property; you have been bought and paid for. That is why you should use your body for the glory of God.
Hear, O LORD, have mercy on me; LORD, be my helper.
You changed my mourning into dancing; you took off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness.
So that my glory may praise you and not be silent. O LORD, my God, forever will I give you thanks.
O LORD, my God, I cried out to you for help and you healed me.
The generation to come will be told of the Lord, that they may proclaim to a people yet unborn the deliverance you have brought.
for I shall give the weary all they need and satisfy all those whose strength has gone.
For we are his handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for the good works that God has prepared in advance, that we should live in them.
He gives strength to the weary, he strengthens the powerless.
2 Maccabees 12:36
But when they that were with Esdrin had fought long, and were weary, Judas called upon the Lord to be their helper, and leader of the battle:
1 Timothy 4:10
For therefore we labor and are reviled, because we hope in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, especially of the faithful.
but Jesus said, “Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them;
for the Kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Your strength is not in numbers, nor does your power depend upon stalwart men; but you are the God of the lowly, the helper of the oppressed, the supporter of the weak, the protector of the forsaken, the savior of those without hope.
2 Corinthians 12:10
Therefore, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and constraints, for the sake of Christ;for when I am weak, then I am strong.
Because God did not make death, nor does he rejoice in the destruction of the living.
For he fashioned all things that they might have being, and the creatures of the world are wholesome;
For God formed us to be imperishable; the image of his own nature he made us.
They sang of your holy name, Lord, and praised in unison your conquering hand,
Because Wisdom opened the mouths of the mute, and gave ready speech to infants.
Their children are bold of face and stubborn of heart—to them I am sending you. You shall say to them: Thus says the Lord GOD.And whether they hear or resist—they are a rebellious house—they shall know that a prophet has been among them.
Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his native place and among his own kin and in his own house.” So he was not able to perform any mighty deed there,apart from curing a few sick people by laying his hands on them.
He was amazed at their lack of faith.
Yes, like the eyes of servants on the hand of their masters, Like the eyes of a maid on the hand of her mistress, So our eyes are on the LORD our God, till we are shown favor.
Even if my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will take me in.
Take no part in the fruitless works of darkness; rather expose them,j12for it is shameful even to mention the things done by them in secret;13but everything exposed by the light becomes visible,k14for everything that becomes visible is light. Therefore, it says:l
“Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.”*
You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden.j
Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father.l
1 Man, too, God created out of the earth, fashioning him after his own likeness,
8 praise that holy name of his, boast of his wonders, tell the story of his renowned deeds. 9 Warnings, too, he gave them; the law that brings life should be a cherished heirloom;
48and said to them, “Whoever receives this child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me. For the one who is least among all of you is the one who is the greatest.”y
“A voice was heard in Ramah, sobbing and loud lamentation; Rachel weeping for her children, and she would not be consoled, since they were no more.”
My child, when you come to serve the Lord, prepare yourself for trials. Be sincere of heart and steadfast, and do not be impetuous in time of adversity.
Cling to him, do not leave him, that you may prosper in your last days. Accept whatever happens to you; in periods of humiliation be patient.
For in fire gold is tested, and the chosen, in the crucible of humiliation.
