Who Are YOU?

The shepherds went in haste to Bethlehem and found Mary and Joseph, and the infant lying in the manger. When they saw this, they made known the message that had been told them about this child. All who heard it were amazed by what had been told them by the shepherds. And Mary kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart.(Luke 2:16-19)

And what did Mary ponder?

She pondered the message that was delivered to these Shepherds. A message that confirmed her heart in Truth and HOPE. That the child, her child, YOUR child, that was lying in a manger is THE Messiah and Lord. Her Messiah. Her Lord. Your Messiah. YOUR Lord.

This was the long awaited, ( Since the fall of Adam and Eve ), Good news ( Gospel) not only for Mary and Joseph, but one of Great Joy for All People. HAVE YOU PONDERED THAT IN YOUR HEART? Have you come to expect instantaneous answers and instantaneous results? Do you ever ponder just how great the many gifts with which you have been blessed really are?

Have you allowed yourself to become surrounded by those whose world view cannot or will not envision the great joys of pregnancy?  Can you no longer see Jesus in the unborn child?  And Mary in the expectant Mother? Have you given in to the idea that pregnancy is a problem rather than a joyous gift? Do you no longer see children as a hope for mankind? Have you relabeled them as nonpersons and now treat them as a root cause of the “disease” of pregnancy?

We stand in prayer outside the mill to give a voice to the voiceless, the weakest of mankind,  and in doing so we acknowledge their humanity.  These children are just one reason we go to cry out to God in prayer and reparation, asking that hearts be changed to see humanity of the unborn.

Did you know another reason we go is for you, the parents, who have become victims of a lie, as they are sold a story of hopelessness? Did you know that the great advocators of abortion like Margaret Sanger, thought of parents in your position as the underlying cause of the disease of poverty and human weakness? Have you allowed yourself to be filled with pessimism and bought into the lie where the only so-called “solution” consists of the destruction of your child, and therein your family? Fear not, there still is HOPE.

Hope, provided through the actions of our friends, like The Little Way, Lifehouse, The Golden Arrow, Sidewalk Advocates, Sisters for Life, 40 Days for Life, Rachel’s vineyard, St. Bernadette’s Diaper Bank and countless parish outreach programs willing to disprove the lie of HOPELESSNESS.

Do you know a THIRD reason we go? It is for those victims who work at the mill. Are you one of the middle managers, who has been trained to see abortion as the end all and perfect solution? Did you know that that solution comes from the child-phobic pessimism of Margaret Sanger?

Do you no longer see that you are in a workplace filled with human dismemberment? Do you ignore the trauma that having an abortion brings on women who come to the mill? Do you block out and fail to see the life long anguish it inflicts on women?

As Helpers it is for these workers that we also stand. We are a church of sinners, but bring with us the Great Physician, Jesus Christ, who has the cure we all need. For he is HOPE. He not only brings Love —HE IS LOVE ITSELF. With HIS guidance we can find TRUE ways to serve those around us.

2021 Mass Schedule

record

For many years now, despite a very busy schedule Archbishop Kurtz has celebrated Mass for the Helpers. His pursuit of conversion through Charity is a reminder of our
Christian calling as we seek to share the message of Christ’s Hope with the hearts and minds of every man and woman in this city, in our nation and through out God’s world. As the Archbishop reminds us we must do so using the 3 C’s – Charity, Compassion, and Civility.

So come out and give witness to life.

We also give THANKS to all those parishioners at the Cathedral of the Assumption for providing us a place of worship.

While all the dates are filled for 2021, you are always welcome to concelebrate or sign up for 2022. We hope to hear from you.
