Do we say Yes to God? In his homily, Archbishop Kurtz points to the “yeses” of John the Baptist and Our Lady at the Annunciation. Saying Yes to God, many times involves saying NO to the ways of the world. Slowing down and fostering a time of silence. The Archbishop mentioned in his homily that the early church fathers understood the importance of Mary’s yes by their great reverence to the March 25th Feast of the Annunciation of our Lord. That during those days that feast day was given greater festivity than Christmas, because that is the day that our Savior, Jesus the Christ, entered this world as one of us. It showed their great understanding and respect for Human Life at its earliest stage. They understood the great Fiat of Mary; which is the greatest human example of trusting in our God by simply saying “Let it be done to me, according to thy word.”
Thanks Archbishop Kurtz for celebrating Mass for us. Let us pray that our world may come to better realize the gift of Human Life that God has graciously given us and pray we each trust and accept God’s plans for us.
Our Lady of Guadalupe, Pray for us.
