When speaking about today’s reading from the book of Wisdom (18:14-16; 19:6-9). Fr. Jeff Nicolas reminded us to remember that in the end it is God who wins. It is his will that triumphs over all, including our own wants and desires. Just as the dry lands were made available to the Israelites to cross the Red Sea, so God will make all things anew.
Just as the widow in our Gospel reading was able to receive a just judgement from the rather agnostic judge (Luke 18:1-8), we too can rest assured that our Lord, who is the just Judge hears the cries of His people.
In the words of St. Josaphat, “Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a poor sinner.”.
St. Josaphat, Pray for us.
