The ever silent St. Joseph, protected the unborn Christ child from the barbaric onslaught directed by the jealous Herod. The bible goes on to describe the scene,

16 Then Herod, when he saw that he had been tricked by the wise men, was in a furious rage, and he sent and killed all the male children in Bethlehem and in all that region who were two years old or under, according to the time which he had ascertained from the wise men.
17 Then was fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Jeremiah:
18 “A voice was heard in Ramah, wailing and loud lamentation, Rachel weeping for her children; she refused to be consoled, because they were no more.”

But we prefer our death be more civilized now in the United States, so when Roe v Wade was the law of land legalizing abortion there was no line by line description of how that would be achieved. No mention of children being surgically torn in pieces with forceps and vacuumed from their mothers womb. To codify that into a bill of law would just be barbaric promotion. No, the culture of death for the unborn is a much more civilized barbarism.
The civilized barbarism of the unborn hides behind “women’s reproductive rights”, “pro-choice”, “fetus”, and “clump of cells”. No, it is not scheduled for internet viewing by the Secretary of Health, that would be barbaric promotion. It goes on methodically unseen, generally in unsanitary conditions, but presented in a sanitized way.
This civilized barbarism also has been promoted and protected by another catholic Joseph, or Joe to his Planned Parenthood friends. This Joseph has not been so silent. In a more Herod-like way he has been helping to eliminate as many unborn children made in the image of Christ as possible. Not that he personally believes in abortion, even though he personally accepted an award for all his efforts. No, this Joseph has not been as silent in his life, especially publicly. Constantly, scandalizing the sheep of his childhood faith, he has not been taken to task for his barbarism, because his is a much more “civilized” and accepted form. And despite the holocaustic number of deaths that could be attributed to the polite well-spoken clean-cut grandfatherly figure’s legal promotions his public witness goes on spiritually uninterrupted.
Guess it takes a firing squad to get some peoples attention to see barbaric promotion.
