If you didn’t happen to have the chance to celebrate Mass in February with the Helpers, you missed out on a great opportunity of Hope.
As mentioned in an article our Local Catholic Newspaper, The Record, 150 people gathered to give thanks to our Lord and give witness to the sanctity of all human life. Not only did this great procession provide witness, it provided Hope to people of faith. After the bitterly cold procession and concluding Benediction, everyone gathered in the undercroft of the Cathedral of the Assumption. Here young local Catholics witnessed to their faith and their experiences of being involved in the prolife movement, most notably the recent March for Life in Washington D.C. and the Walk for Life in Louisville.
This February 14th day should serve as a reminder to those praying in the prolife movement that this road we are on is a road to Calvary. The cross that February 14th day was the bitter cold. But we are also called to take up the cross of doubt for those who struggle with the decision of becoming a mother. The cross of hopelessness for those who see no way to support their child. Because just like the road to Calvary, our road to ends in HOPE when we bring our cross to Calvary and we let our LORD take it up. That February 14th, it ended with the HOPE of a new generation who seeks to bring our Lord to the world around it by giving witness to the Faith that is with in them. We can give HOPE to mothers by praying with the Helpers at Mass, witnessing with 40 Days for Life and supporting Billboards for Life. By helping our friends at The Golden Arrow, Lifehouse, and the many Catholic Parishes who quietly and daily reach out to those around us in need of support.
When seen by the individual the cross we are called to carry can seem heavy, when carried by the entire Body of Christ not only is it made light, it too ends in HOPE.
If you missed the February Helpers Mass come join us throughout 2015. Also help our friends at 40 Days for Life Louisville who are offering great Lenten opportunities to draw closer to our Lord in Prayer.
