June Mass – True Self Expression

On a beautiful Saturday morning, Archbishop Joseph Kurtz reflected on the idea of self-expression. While we are called to be courageous in faith and to express ourselves to others, we must not let that expression stop at or focus merely on ourselves. Our Catholic Faith calls us to take that expression to its deepest level, Jesus Christ. We must give way to the will of Christ and allow the Holy Spirit to reach out to others through us. This takes great courage and God’s Love wants to give us such courage.

The Archbishop points to St. Paul who reminds us to run the race; to run it to its fullest extent. It is in this all out effort for completeness that our Lord allows us to uncover His plan for us. Making His will known in such a way that His divine love ripples out to those around us.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of thy faithful. Enkindle in them the fire of thy love. Send forth thy Spirit, and they shall be created. And thou shall renew the face of the earth.
